Oni Joinery delivered a custom joinery package for Ippin Dining, a refined Japanese restaurant located in Woolloongabba. Featuring an elegant mix of solid timber panelling, slatted screening, and integrated storage, this project reflects both the precision of Japanese craftsmanship and the warmth of natural materials. The result is a deeply textured and immersive dining environment where design, function, and mood are perfectly balanced.

Project Scope

‍The client required a custom joinery solution that would elevate the restaurant’s ambiance while maintaining high levels of functionality and durability. The goal was to create a seamless blend of traditional Japanese design elements with a contemporary hospitality environment. The design needed to align with the restaurant’s architectural vision and provide a calm, elevated aesthetic that complemented the dining experience.

Our Approach

Our team focused on warm-toned timber selections, rhythmic paneling, and refined details to achieve a timeless, immersive result. We used solid timber, custom slatted feature screens, natural stone surfaces, and integrated lighting to complement the architect’s concept and interior palette. Every detail, from the curved banquet seating to the concealed storage joinery, was crafted to balance atmosphere, utility, and enduring beauty.
